我们身处什么时空 | IB Weekly newsletter

    新学期的IB探究开始了!松江学乐星的托班和小班孩子进入了IBPYP超学科探究主题“我们身处什么时空”的探究。这个探究单元的题目是个人的成长。中心思想是让孩子们了解他们的成长过程和他们来自哪里。
    The children had begun the new unit “Where we are in Place and Time”. The central idea is for students to understand their growing process and where they come from originally.

    小班孩子的前期调研并不复杂,但这能初步锻炼他们的沟通能力和研究技能。他们每人手里有一张调查表,这张表在父母帮助下完成。这张表可以了解孩子们的认知情况。

    where learners had to use their communication and research skill, we come from our mother’s tummy is what most students answered, as per questionnaire sent to parents to test their knowledge. 



    调研完成后,孩子们和同伴们分享自己的发现:我们来自妈妈的肚子;怀孕的妈妈肚子大大的,因为里面装着一个小宝贝;怎么知道里面装了个宝贝?可以通过B超检查看到。宝宝怎么来到这个世界上?通过妈妈分娩出来......在孩子们的分享中,“我们从哪里来”这个问题得到了解答。
    We learnt about pregnant mom, and we discovered mom has a baby inside, where we come from. We had to go through journey of things mom experience during her pregnancy, going to the scan to check the baby and when the baby was delivered mom was happy after delivery.

    孩子们分享自己在妈妈肚子里、刚出生、小婴儿、婴儿期、幼儿期的照片,和小伙伴一起“看见个人的成长”

    孩子们带来婴儿时期穿的衣服,一比对,他们都在感叹:自己真的长大太多。以前的小宝宝大概只有现在自己上半身那么长~



    有的孩子问:小宝宝都是一样的吗?老师请孩子们互相看看同伴们有什么不一样。有的孩子发现了:有的是男孩,有的是女孩。孩子们认为,小婴儿出生后就能知道TA是男生还是女生。老师请孩子们把男生女生的不同表示出来。孩子们用发挥想象力和创造性,用自己认为属于男生或女生的颜色,为男孩或女孩涂色。  
    We also learnt that after a baby is born it can either be a baby girl or a boy, they had to use their critical and creative skills and choose their gender and color girl or boy.



    除此之外,孩子们对于自我的认知也在拓展。他们通过观察自己,把自己认识的身体部位和作用,在外教老师帮助下,用英文分享给小伙伴:每个人生来就有手和脚等身体部位;我们用手洗脸、吃饭、画画,我们用脚跳、走路和跑步;我们的手和脚还会协作,当歌曲响起来,可以一边鼓掌,一边踢踏。孩子们还发现了运动和舞蹈能够把全身很多部位调动起来......
    They had to be knowledgeable and learn more about themselves and recognize different body parts that we are born with hands and feet, we wash our faces with our hands , we jump, walk, run with our feet. When asked to clap and stomp like the song instruct they would do exactly what they’re supposed to.

    冬奥会健儿精湛的竞技视频感染了孩子们,他们也想那么优秀。但是看到了自己和奥运健儿的差距。老师提醒孩子们想想自己和奥运健儿有哪些不同?孩子们讨论出了年龄、身高等的不同。他们认为只要有足够的时间,他们也像奥运健儿那么厉害!接下来,他们认识到要长高,首先要睡好觉吃好饭。
    They had to be open minded had to learn about action words, things we do as we grow, we learn to walk, and we sometimes sleep to rest. The child is growing so fast that it seems to grow up in a twinkling of an eye.


    最后,为了评估孩子们对自己的了解程度,老师组织孩子们画自己的手。孩子们用了一种最简便的方式,在手掌涂满颜料然后按在纸上,这样就留下了自己的手印。在孩子邀请老师欣赏手印的时候,他们发现:每个人的手有大有小,有长有短,有胖有瘦。老师还引导孩子们看手印上的纹路,看能找到一样的吗?孩子们找了一遍,发现:没有一个纹路是一样的!哇!每个人都不一样!每个人都是独一无二的!自我的特别之处,就这么被孩子们探索到了。
    They also had to be reflective, think about different ways things could be done. To assess the reflective effect of children,we organized children to draw their own hands and create handprints, with different handprints,our hands are also different in size, which in turn shows that we grow differently.

    托班的孩子对时序没有多大概念。中外教老师首先了解孩子们的已有认知,了解他们已经知道的东西。老师们发了一份简单的前期经验调查表,孩子们可以和家长一起完成,问题如下:婴儿从哪里来?你出生后发生了什么变化?

    The first line of inquiry is focusing on the fetal period.We start off by assessing the kids prior learning on what they know already,We sent out a preliminary experience questionnaire,We sent out a preliminary experience questionnaire,question is as follows where do babies come from and how have you changed since birth?


    孩子们回到幼儿园后,老师邀请他们分享自己知道的知识:婴儿是从妈妈的肚子里来的。他们一开始只能躺着,后来能坐着,再后来能爬,最后是能走路和说话了。

    The children understood that they came from their mother’s tummy and that since birth they have become much bigger! Other children could recognize that they now could walk and talk.


    接下来的探究中,孩子们在老师引导下,知道了人是分为男生和女生的。在课堂上,他们互相分辨谁是男生谁是女生。然后,老师邀请孩子们根据自己的性别选择相应的卡通人物,并涂上自己喜欢的颜色。 

    The children also learnt genders – boy and girl. They could understand between each other who was a boy and who was a girl in the classroom. Afterwards,Let the children according to their own gender to create art.




    接下来,孩子们开始认识自己身体的部位。孩子们最熟悉手和脚,发现了一只手和脚都有5个手/脚趾。通过和老师及同伴们做游戏、讨论,他们认识到手有很多作用,比如拿东西、洗手、吃饭、画画、拉手手,他们也发现了脚的很多作用:走路、跑跳、踩水、踩玩具车......
    For the beginning of the following week, the children were introduced to hands and feet. They can show their hands and can explore the mysteries of numbers with one hand。



    外教老师和孩子们一起用英文做小游戏指到那个身体部位就用英文说出这个部位的作用,比如嘴巴可以talk,eat,drink,脚可以walk,jump,run

    孩子们在纸上按手印的时候,发现了手印有不同的大小。你能猜到谁是谁吗?
    As for the end of the week, students had compared their hands of different sizes between each other and stamped their hands on paper. Can you guess who’s who?



    松江学乐星托班和小班孩子对“我们身处什么时空”的探究刚进行一个星期,接下来,他们还将探究到自身更多的变化和成长。这些认知在大人看来可能很粗浅,但是孩子们获得认知的过程大多是自己主动进行的。这种主动性,将贯穿他们作为IB学习者的所有过程。
    As we are nearing the end of the first line of inquiry; we will now begin to explore the changes of development since birth. The children will begin to have the opportunity to realize the physical changes they have been through by different ways of learning!
