Sailing from SCLS:
an enriching experience, a sincere responsibility and awakening power
2021届中国部初中九年级迎来了期盼已久的毕业典礼。毕业典礼在宋庆龄剧场举行，九年级全体师生、学校领导、毕业生家长和其他年级的师生们共同见证了这激动人心又感人至深的时刻。
Domestic Division Middle School of Soong Ching Ling School held the most anticipated graduation ceremony. The inspiring and touching ceremony was witnessed by all middle school teachers, students and Grade 9 parents in SCLS theatre.
第一乐章：成长
Chapter One: Growth
在大家的祝福中，九年级毕业生身着正装，走上舞台。在全场齐唱国歌后，九年级毕业生深情地唱起陪伴他们四年的校歌。那悠扬动人的旋律如此熟悉，但在毕业典礼上最后一次合唱却更意义非凡。
The audience watched as the 9th graders stepped onto the stage in formal attire. The middle school graduates sang the national anthem and SCLS school song with great affection. The occasion made the familiar chorus especially meaningful.
大屏幕播放了毕业生们从六年级入校到九年级毕业的回顾视频，其中有同学们各项集体活动的照片，还有从小到大的个人照片。看着一张张明媚的笑脸，看着毕业生们从稚嫩青涩的孩子成长为意气风发的少年，大家的眼眶不禁湿润。这段视频浓缩了四年的时光，承载了深厚的情谊，怎不令人感动唏嘘？
The photo album of graduates’ growth and school experiences displayed on the screen got drenched with tears in audiences’ eyes. It was the memory of middle school time and friendship that made us greatly moved.

靖云帆等四位同学代表上台发言，他们发言的主题分别是“脚踏实地”“节节攀升”“挣脱束缚”“认准目标”。他们不仅回顾了自己的成长经历，也道出了同学们的心声，获得了大家热烈的掌声。
Four graduate speakers gave speeches under the respective topics of ‘Come down to earth’, ‘Keep rising steadily’, ‘Break loose’ and ‘Align with goals’. They reviewed their growth experiences and poured out their inner voices. The speeches won enthusiastic applause.
第二乐章：感恩
Chapter Two: Appreciation
学生的成长离不开老师的悉心栽培、谆谆教导。九年级所有任课老师为毕业生送上了别具一格的祝福语。老师们的发言饱含着对毕业生的期望，也体现了学科特色。如物理金爱华老师说“不要将荣誉作为追逐的目标，那是凸透镜形成的虚像，我们要做的是努力攀登知识的高峰”，鼓励大家脚踏实地又追求卓越；数学陈月兰老师说“人生好比一个函数，你是决定函数的自变量”，期盼大家不断靠近理想的渐近线。
Students’ growth can’t be divorced from teachers’ sincere instruction. All the Grade 9 teachers greeted graduates with expectation in unique subject spirit. For instance, Physics teacher, Aihua, Jin said ‘Don’t pursue honor as it was the virtual image formed by convex lens. What we need to do is to climb the peak of knowledge.’ Maths teacher, Yuelan, Chen said ‘If life is compared to a function, people are the most independent variable.’ All teachers’ words encouraged students to achieve the pursuit of excellence.
在老师们精彩的发言后，朱芮珊母亲和朱嘉业父亲作为家长代表发言。两位家长回顾了孩子在宋校成长的经历，感谢九年级老师科学有效的教学规划，更感谢学校对每个孩子的尊重、呵护和因材施教。
Followed by teachers’ wonderful speeches, the parent speakers recalled their children’s growth experiences, expressed thanks to teachers’ instruction and gratitude towards school’s care, respect and education.
第三乐章：期待
Chapter Three: Expectation
大家迎来了敬爱的封校长为毕业生致辞。封校长对每位毕业生深感骄傲和自豪，她赞扬了毕业生们在疫情期间的坚忍不拔、在学习中的努力奋斗，她感谢毕业生用生命的火花照亮了宋校的天空，也感谢所有教职员工的辛勤耕耘和无私奉献。封校长的致辞那样深情真挚，感动了在场的每一个人。
Madam Feng addressed a speech to all graduates. She felt proud of every graduate and admired their hard-working especially during the outbreaks of COVID-19. She appreciated students’ efforts and teachers’ contributions. Her affectionate words made audiences moved.
之后，毕业生们向大家献上了他们精心准备的毕业演出，九1班的朗诵《回首》坚定激昂，九2班的歌舞《起风了》活力四射。欢笑、眼泪、感动、感慨，每一个人都沉浸在这美好的时刻中。
After that, the audiences watched the graduation performance. Both the recitation of Class 1, Grade 9 and the songs of Class 2, Grade 9 soaked every one of the audiences in this wonderful moment.
最后，所有毕业班的师生和家长合影留念，将毕业的难忘瞬间永远定格在相片中，也永远镌刻在所有人的心中。是的，无论走到哪里，我们永远是宋奶奶的孩子！
At last, all the students and teachers took a group photo to mark the occasion and freeze the unforgettable moments. We are the children of Soong Ching Ling wherever we are.
