光阴荏苒，岁月如歌，在茉莉花开的六月，又是一年一度的毕业季。6月23日下午，上海星河湾双语学校举办了2021届初中毕业典礼。
开场前，大屏幕上的暖场视频滚动播放了九年级同学们四年来精彩纷呈的活动，以及初中阶段同学们的努力和成就。
在嘉宾唐盛昌校长、李英校长和许多教过九年级同学们的中外教老师、以及家长们的热烈掌声中，九年级全体同学整齐列队、有序入座。
PREAMBLE
毕业典礼开场
在主持人Mr. Eppley和宋逸凡老师的开场介绍后，星校爱乐乐团带来了一首清香袅袅的《茉莉花》，毕业典礼正式开始。
学生代表发言
优秀学生代表
首先，是学生代表9（1）班李培秩同学与9（4）班宋佳同学的发言。李培秩同学回望了初中四年的成长与温暖的点点滴滴，宋佳同学的演讲则充满着对未来的憧憬与毕业之际的不舍，一笔一墨皆是同窗情谊。
家长发言
在这个人生的重大节点上，家长们也对孩子们有着诉不尽的情。9（1）班戴云衣妈妈吴蕴哲女士表达了对于星校“中国核、世界流”办学理念的深度认可，列举了老师与孩子间数不尽的温暖瞬间，对学校给予孩子们的陪伴和支持表达了由衷感谢。
校领导致辞
随后是初小部主任郑圣洁老师的致辞。郑主任回顾了同学们多年来在星校的成长和蜕变，赞扬了同学们在标化考试、学科课程和个性化活动方面取得的卓越成绩。郑主任也对同学们的未来寄予厚望，希望同学们仰望星空、脚踏实地，胸怀天下、善待弱小，成长为有责任、有担当、大格局的有志之才。
奖学金颁发
今年，星校为表彰德智体美劳“五育并举”、品学兼优的九年级毕业生，特别设立学生发展奖学金。校党总支书记胡清湉老师宣读了学生发展奖学金评选规则，并公布本届毕业生获奖同学名单。李校长为学生们亲切颁奖并拍照留念。
拨穗仪式
紧接着，便是毕业典礼最激动人心的时刻——拨穗仪式。毕业生们依次上台，由王念祖校长和郑圣洁主任为学生们一一拨穗。台上的同学们眼里闪着光，脸颊上洋溢着自豪。毕业帽上的流苏被拨过的一瞬，便是翻过了人生书本上五彩斑斓的一页，新的人生篇章已然打开。
学生代表们献上美丽的鲜花，以感谢唐校长和李校长对九年级同学们的关爱，感谢领导老师们在拨穗过程中对同学们寄予的殷切希望。
毕业大合唱
最后，全体毕业生合唱毕业歌曲《A Million Dreams》——未来，又何止只有一百万个梦呢？毕业典礼结束之际，毕业生们纷纷涌上舞台，在家长们和老师们的镜头前展露出真挚而不舍的笑容，照片定格，记录下了青春岁月里弥足珍贵的一刻。
感谢在偌大宇宙中的相遇，遇见便是缘，同学们整整四年的陪伴将永恒地藏于彼此心底。也许还看不清未来的方向，但它一定充满无限可能，在五彩未知的世界里，你我皆是黑马、勇敢奔腾。祝福同学们在今后的高中生活中乘风破浪、海阔天空，升学顺利、前程似锦！毕业快乐！
G9 Graduation Ceremony
On June 23rd, 2021, the long-prepared graduation ceremony of the SSBS G9 students was off to a brilliant start. In the midst of glowing gold balloons, flowing graduation cloaks, and brightly-wrapped presents, only a slight hint of farewell mixed into the misty summer air.
There was excitement in the staircases as the students filed in the large auditorium one by one. For once, they were not asked to settle down. The school’s orchestra mounted the stage to perform their piece – a homecoming song, “Jasmine Flower.” The song was tender and beautiful, much like the ringing memories in the graduates’ minds.
Next, the student representatives Kimi from G9(1) and Serena from G9(4) preceded the stage. Kimi looked back on his four years at SSBS, the middle school of his dreams, while Serena discussed the priceless value of all the moments she’s shared with SSBS, and the potential of young minds in the world today.
After that, parent representative Ms. Wu was welcomed to the stage. With an adoring smile, she recounted the charming experience SSBS has offered its students. But the finishing touch of the speeches came from the winning words of Ms. Zheng. In her speech, she spoke of how every trying hour is a victorious seed buried in time, and, sooner or later, success will bloom. Using Winston Churchill’s wise words, she said, “This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning.” No quote can be more precise for the situation than this.
After that, Ms. Hu introduced the criteria of the scholarship set up by SSBS this year and announced the prize-winners who excel in “the five co-equal educational disciplines” of virtue, intelligence, physical education, art, and labor.
The turning of the tassel is the rite of passage for every graduate. Standing on the brightly-lit stage, every student glowed with pride. The moment of the turning of the tassel signified both the ending note of a beautiful story and the wake of a new chapter.
“A million dreams are keeping me awake…” The graduation song became the final ring that held all friends together. Indeed – no night will ever be dull with a head full of dreams. The graduation ceremony is one of those instants when all turn around and see how the time has flown. But one must not talk of the past too much. As Ms. Zheng had so nicely put, there is no doubt light in our eyes, a dream in our heart, but most of all a path at our feet. With these natural gifts, what could ever go wrong?
