文章-SUF-VKBS SEEDS OF LOVE CHARITY FUND Signing Ceremony

Different forms of charity activities were held in our school every year, such as "Little Hands Holding Little Hands" Book Donation Activities, "Jacaranda" Charity Bazaar, Charity BAOBEI Run, which have stimulated children's sense of social responsibility and cultivated their good quality to care about others. To ensure the use of raised money in conformity with laws and regulations, with the help of DTD education platform, we began to seek for cooperation with philanthropic organizations. After several rounds of discussions and evaluations with Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), our school decided to cooperate with Shanghai United Foundation.

On October 16th, our school launched a name-collecting activity for charity fund. After a week, we have received 75 recommending names and three of them were selected. Through the final vote, "He Bei" Charity Fund Project named by Wu Zheyu from Grade 8-3 won the most votes, becoming the name of charity fund project of our school. For this name, "He" implies growth, which is also the radical of "Ke" of Vanke; "Bei" implies baby, representing all the students in VKBS. The original intention to found this fund is for the healthy growth of children. Its English name is " Seeds of Love", expressing the hope that seeds of love can be sowed in hearts of children and children will be the successors of public welfare undertakings in society. 

Shanghai United Foundation（SUF）

Founded in 2009, Shanghai United Foundation (5A) is the first independent public grantmaking foundation in Shanghai.  It is a charity fund corporation with large scale and great influence. At the beginning of its founding, its mission was "Uniting Donors to Support Grassroots Nonprofits in China". SUF encourages the practice of innovative donating mechanism— united donation, which means that with social issues as guidance, lots of philanthropic organizations (projects) are united to carry out fundraising activities from bottom to top and the raised charity resources are distributed to philanthropic organizations in the way of high accountability.

On October 25th, the signing ceremony of charity fund project co-established by SUF and VKBS was held at a solemn flag-raising ceremony. Ms. Zhang Bona, project manager of SUF, and Ms. Agnes, Executive Principal of VKBS, signed the cooperation agreement and awarded the certificate of establishment. 

Ms. Zhang Bona, project manager of SUF, and Ms. Agnes Cheng, Executive Principal of VKBS, awarded the members in SUF (VKBS He Bei) Charity Special Fund Management Committee with appointment letters. They are members of PTSA, including Ms. Jin Xiaolu, Ms. Sun Ya, Ms. Ji Yiqing, Mr. Liu Yinchuan, Ms. Deng Zihui, Ms. Zhang Yuli, the Vice Principal of Moral Education ，Ms. Li Yujuan, Mr. Papish and Ms. Wu Jie. 

SUF (VKBS He Bei) Charity Special Fund was officially founded on October 25th, 2021. Our school will deposit all the funds from charity activities in the SUF "VKBS He Bei Charity " Special Fund and apply them in poverty relief and "Heart Saving" project. It is predicted that the funds will be adopted to subsidize 16 children with congenital heart disease in the first round to support their health growth. In addition, charity bazaar will be carried out in school in November and the money gained from this activity will also be used in "Heart Saving" project.

Children are expected to learn and obsess "caring" as one of 5C5R key competencies of our school. We believe that under the management of VKBS He Bei Charity Special Fund, money raised by children will be legally donated to the needed people according to the national regulations and the charity project in our school will perform better. As the saying goes, "Make a gift of rose, hands stay lingering fragrance". We believe that children can truly experience the great spirit of caring about others through taking part in the charity activities.
